Booking and Arrest Records in Fort White
Fort White has no town jail. Arrested people generally move to the Columbia County Detention Facility at 389 NW Quinten Street in Lake City. Call 386-755-7000 for current custody. A negative inquiry at Town Hall says nothing about whether the county facility holds someone.
Booking is only one stage. The jail record may show intake time, listed charges, bond, custody status, and identifying data. Those booking charges are initial entries. Prosecutors can decline, add, amend, or reduce counts, so a later court file may differ. An arrest is not proof of guilt.
For a suspected recent arrest, call detention first, then request the agency report. A same-day event may not yet appear in the Clerk's web copy. The courthouse is at 173 NE Hernando Avenue, Lake City, FL 32055. County Criminal can be reached at 386-758-1045 or 386-758-1338. Use a case number exactly as printed when possible. An arrest report number may not work as a court case number.
Finding Fort White Filed Cases

The Clerk warns that the web copy is informational and normally updates by about 7:00 a.m. with prior-day entries. Downtime and delays are possible. Fort White Crime Data Caution
Fort White is an incorporated town and Columbia County's only incorporated municipality besides Lake City. The 2020 Census count was about 618. Small-place annual estimates can carry large margins of error, and raw event counts can swing sharply from year to year.
More important, CCSO's UCR count covers the sheriff's broader county jurisdiction. Dividing that county-jurisdiction number by Fort White's population would create a false town crime rate. Use a town-specific official series only when FDLE, FBI, or Census geography clearly supports it. Police press releases and selected incidents should never be treated as a complete rate.
This limit is useful, not evasive. It prevents county-wide enforcement activity from being mislabeled as conduct inside the town and keeps aggregate statistics from being used to infer anything about a person.
